Banana Nut Protein Smoothie

Banana Nut Protein Smoothie
This is a protein-packed smoothie that will leave you satisfied for hours. Ingredients such as almonds, brazil nuts and cinnamon are known to lower blood sugar, reduce cholesterol, protect your heart and are rich in antioxidants. They are also anti-inflammatory so other than throwing in a big handful of baby spinach or kale, this smoothie is hard to beat. Finally, it’s thick and rich and so delicious you could call it a chocolate milkshake and no one would know how healthy it was!

8 oz. of organic almond milk

I personally use Kefir or Organic whole milk yogurt, however non-dairy yogurts, or even kombucha could provide the probiotics. Adding Mg as MgO, 750 mg, or another suitable Mg supplement as a buffering agent may increase the survivability of the probiotics through the upper and middle GI tract.
This can help win the other 2/3’s of the battle against obesity, diabetes, establishing a healthy gut flora, whose metabolic byproducts can include both protective, and BMR boosting C2-C4 carboxylic acids. A modest 10% increased in BMR helps with weight loss.
The banana and nut fiber are excellent prebiotics, Adding a little spirulina, or dandelion can also boost the available amount of prebiotics…and aren’t even noticeable if very ripe bananas are used. I freeze bananas at peak ripeness, as they also help chill the smoothie.
